## Overview

The [Station Manager console](https://station.console.pbs.org) enables designated station staff users to access and administer the data for the station to which they have access. When updating information in the Station Manager, please keep in mind that this data is leveraged across multiple PBS digital products, and cannot be isolated to a single destination.

## <span style="color: #000000">Request Console Access</span>

**If you need access to manage your station's data, **[submit a request to the Digital Support team](http://digitalsupport.pbs.org/support/home) and include:

- your station's email address
- station flagship call sign
- the account type (see below) needed

**Account Types**

The Station Manager console has two user types:

1. **Station Viewer:** When this role is assigned, console user can only view data for the station to which they have access. User cannot edit the station data.
2. **Station Editor:** When this role is assigned, console user can edit data for the station to which they have access.

After your request has been processed by the Digital Support team, you will receive an email notification from <span style="color: #222222">PBS Digital Account Management with instructions on how to activate your Station Manager account. </span><span style="color: #222222">**You will need to log in to the console with your PBS Account, using the same email address that was used for your invitation.**</span><span style="color: #222222"> If you do not have a PBS Account, </span><span style="color: #222222">[learn how to create one](https://pbs-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SM/pages/5046702)</span><span style="color: #222222">.</span>

## Station Detail View

From the "All Stations" view, click the **pencil icon** (> Macro (inline-media-image)

) located to the far right side of the station name or click the **Primary Call Sign **to view details for a specific station. Data pertaining to the station is organized within four tabs across the top of the page. Click **each tab** to view more information. The tabs are as follows:

### Core Data

- <span style="color: #333333">Use this tab to manage the required and other key fields for your station. </span>
- The "Primary Call Sign", "Video Portal URL", and "Passport Enabled" fields are read-only. Update requests for these fields must be submitted to the [Digital Support](http://digitalsupport.pbs.org/support/home) team.
- For stations that serve two time zones, click the Secondary Time Zone dropdown menu to select a secondary time zone. Unlike the primary time zone, stations can select the secondary time zone. The secondary time zone will surface as an additional tab on the TV schedule on PBS.org.

**The Primary call sign *****must be your station's flagship call sign*****.**

## Transmitters & Feeds

> 📝 **All fields on this tab are read-only for station users.**

### Flagship Station** **

This is your main PBS station and is already assigned in the console.

### Livestream feeds

Stations can use these sections to view all feeds belonging to their flagship and secondary transmitters, and verify proper assignments, display names, and channel numbers.

The player code differs slightly between each feed to differentiate between the feeds, which makes it easy to select which feed you want to display when a user hits the play button. For example, if you pull the player code from your national WORLD Channel feed, The WORLD Channel is what the user sees when they first hit play. They can also click the **dropdown **in the top left of the player to move to other available livestreams on your site.

<details>
<summary>See what this toggle looks like on the livestream player</summary>

![toggle.jpg](media://c197b2ca-04a0-4d92-ba24-8e53b545c753)
</details>

It is important to keep this in mind when deciding which player code to pull. Keep in mind that your station may opt to embed a player for each stream, but the toggle displays on each player.

The livestreams below are currently available to implement on your site. Click the **arrow **to expand each livestream to view details and **copy the Player Code**. Any feed that your station does not have activated displays an empty field when expanded.

Figure 1

![livestreams1.jpg](media://5b8ef343-d538-4284-b425-9818329f7ac7)

- Copy the **code** from the Player Code textbox to add a livestream player to your site (Figure 2.1).
  - If you have older code (earlier than February 2024), replace your code with the new code available in Station Manager to enable the toggle feature on your site. View the toggle feature in Figure 3.
- The Logo Overlay is ON by default for *most *national subchannels, and turned OFF on locally provided feeds, such as GA Main (Figure 2.2). **It is turned ON for KIDS livestream, CREATE, NHK and WORLD. It is turned OFF for FNX at this time due to the placement of the FNX logo.** This is your station logo and it displays in the corner of the livestream.

![livestream-code.png](media://965ab776-b708-4d15-ba41-3e347234da78)

- Once you have embedded livestream channels on your site, viewers can use the toggle feature to switch between available livestream feeds (Figure 3).

If you do not wish to display the **toggle feature** in the upper left corner or the ***See Full Schedule*** link located in the upper right side of the page, simply add the code in the table below to the iframe code:

Station Manager logs activity history for updates made to your station object. You can view details via the orange "History" button located near the top right of the screen ([see where this is located](https://pbs-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/download/attachments/5046330/history.jpg?version=2&modificationDate=1575662823680&cacheVersion=1&api=v2)), when you are in an individual station view. Details include:

- user
- timestamp
- method used
- field changed

The History feature provides a list of what has been updated but does not include specific values.
