## Overview

Donation receipts are automatically sent to donors after they make a successful donation. This section provides details and examples of each receipt and how to enable, customize, and manually send receipts. 

## Platform applicability and receipt examples

## How to enable Stripe receipts

Configure Stripe to automatically send receipts to donors after successful donations or processing refunds.

1. Log into Stripe Dashboard
2. Navigate to: **Settings** (gear icon) > **Business** (under "Account settings") > **Customer Emails**
3. Toggle on:
  - **Successful Payments**
  - **Refunds**

## How to customize Stripe receipts

Customize your Stripe receipts to match your station's branding and include important information for donors. To customize the display of your receipt, refer to the [Stripe receipt customization documentation](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/advanced/receipts?payment-ui=embedded-components#customizing-receipts-embedded-components). Instructions from Stripe are also included below for reference:

> ℹ️ Alter the appearance and functionality of your receipts with the following customization options:
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ - **Branding**: Modify the logo and colors in your [Branding settings](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/branding). The upper limit for a custom logo image file size is 512KB. Ideally, the logo should be a square image exceeding 128 x 128 pixels. JPG, PNG, and GIF file types are supported.
> ℹ️ - **Public information**: Specify the public information you want to include, such as your contact number or website address, in your [Public details settings](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/public).

#### Customization options:

- **Station logo**: Add your station's logo to receipts
- **Brand colors**: Match your station's color scheme
- **Support email**: Include your donor support contact
- **Physical address**: Add your station's mailing address

> ℹ️ Amazon and Xfinity receipts cannot be customized by stations. These receipts follow the platform standard formats.

## How to manually send receipts

### From the dashboard

- Go to your Stripe [dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/acct_1QiHD2ENfGnzyGZW/payments) and on the far right side of a customer record, click the **three horizontal dots** (Figure 1).

- When the menu displays, click** Send receipt **(Figure 2).

### From a customer record

- From the left side menu of the Stripe portal, click **Customers **(Figure 1.1).
- Go to the *Payments *section (Figure 1.2).
- From the far right side of record of the customer to whom you want to send a receipt, click the **three horizontal dots** (Figure 1.3).
- When the menu displays, click** Send receipt **(Figure 1.4).
