## Overview

Roles determine the things you can do in the Media Manager console. Permissions are assigned at the role level and allow you to perform certain tasks. This creates a very specific point of accountability for all changes, updates, creations and deletions in the tool. 

Below is a list of roles and each associated task in Media Manager.

## Roles and permissions

| **Role** | **Permissions** |
| --- | --- |
| Editor | - Can edit assigned /objects.
- Cannot create/manage other user accounts.
- Can edit most fields in each object.
- If you need edit a field that you cannot access, [file a support ticket](http://digitalsupport.pbs.org/support/tickets/new). |
| Viewer | - Read-only access to assigned Series-related objects.
- Cannot edit fields in any object. |
