## Overview

**When scheduling a version of your List, you *****must *****assign the *****Live on***** date before any items can be added.**

Scheduling a version of a List means creating a new blank version or a copy of an existing List and assigning a date on which your List will display live on designated platforms. **You must schedule the *****Live on***** date before adding items. **The Add Item button is disabled until the *Live on* date has been assigned.

This page illustrates how to use the Curate calendar to schedule a List version and begin adding items.

> ℹ️ If you have an existing version that contains similar items as the version you are creating,** ****[copy it](https://docs.pbs.org/space/CB/327555307/How+to+Copy+a+List)** instead.

## Demo

The following video demonstrates the basic steps you must take in order to **save a version of your List **and **begin adding items**.

  - If a version of the List is already scheduled, that List displays.
  - If the List has never had a version scheduled, or has no existing unpublished or published versions, a blank version displays.
  - If the version is a copy of a pre-existing version that has been scheduled before, an auto-assigned date displays. This date can be edited.
- To begin scheduling a version of your List, click the **calendar icon** next to *Live on*** **(Figure 1).

## How to add a custom display name and description

All Explore Lists, as well as Custom Lists and the Photo Gallery, allow the option to add a custom display name and description to replace the default text. This section shows you how to add a custom display name and description to a List version.

- In the Display Name textbox, type a **title **for your List version (Figure 1.1).
- In the Display Description textbox, type a** brief description** of the List content (Figure 1.2).
- In the Notes textbox, type **notes about the List version** that are useful for recordkeeping (Figure 1.3). This field does not surface anywhere.

## How to Unschedule a version

If you’ve scheduled a version then change your mind and want to remove the schedule, simply click **Unschedule **and the schedule date returns to a *Not scheduled* status. The Unschedule button is similar to a “cancel” action. You are just canceling the schedule that you created.
