> ✅ **What are ad tags? **An ad tag tells Google Ad Manager, "I belong to this ad unit. Please send me a sponsorship unit that matches my targeting criteria and specified sizes." The ad server then identifies the best sponsorship unit for this ad tag, logs an impression, and sends the sponsorship unit to the ad tag to display on the page. These codes are generated on the Google Ad Manager site. Copy the ad snippet from there and paste into this component.

- In the Ad Size section, click the **checkbox** next to each ad size you want to use on your page (Figure 4.1). You can select either Horizontal ***or*** Square/Vertical units, you cannot make a selection from both categories.
  - Each time you make a selection, a preview is shown in the body of the page (Figure 4.2). It is not a preview of your actual graphic, it is simply a placeholder so you get an idea of how your sponsorship unit will display.
- To add a custom ad size, in the Custom section, click the **checkbox** next to Desktop and/or Mobile and type the width and height of each graphic in the textboxes provided (Figure 4.3). This option is disabled when one of the other ad sizes is selected.
