What are Roles?

Roles determine how you use Bento and what permissions you have been assigned. Permissions are what allow you to perform certain tasks in the Bento tool. This creates a very specific point of accountability for all changes, updates, creations and deletions on the site. Below is a list of Bento roles and the tasks allowed.

Editor

Inserts content into web pages. You are the subject matter expert and care about providing a good story to your audience. You can use currently available objects such as text components and a suite of components.

Developer

You have permission to change all programmatic aspects of the site which is all encompassing short of creating and destroying the instance of the site itself. You can create and implement new components for use by editors and writers. You can also create and modify site-specific templates.

Site Admin

You are able to configure all aspects of a site. You can manage site permissions and are responsible for creating urls and creating/modifying site-specific templates. This role is not intended to manage web content.

WriterA limited but important role, you are responsible for modifying web content. You have access to and can add filer content but you cannot delete filer content.
BloggerBloggers can create, edit, and delete blog entries but cannot access any other pages on the site.
