What is the Explorer Flexible Footer Long custom component?
The Explorer Flexible Footer Long component is a customizable footer that is placed at the bottom of your website pages and can hold:
- copyright information
- attributions
- up to nine custom links (max. characters per link: 19) to other pages on your site or external sites.
The flexible footer adjusts to appear correctly on all devices.

Variable | Description |

| copyright_after | Type the word Copyright and the years or year span (i.e.: 1995-2014) in this field. The copyright symbol is automatically added for you. |

| link_text_max_12_chars | The text that represents the link. Users click this to go to the webpage assigned. |
| link1_url | The full URL of the footer link. Example: http://www.pbs.org/about |

How to implement the Explorer Flexible Footer Long component
- From the Bento administration dashboard, click Pages (Figure 1).

- Click the Master page (Figure 2).

- In the Footer section of the page, click the Available Components dropdown menu and click Custom Component (Figure 3.1).
- Click Add Component (Figure 3.2).

- Click the component dropdown menu and click Explorer Flexible Footer Long (Figure 4).

- Type copyright year information in the copyright_after textbox (Figure 5.1). This text appears at the very bottom of your website pages.
- Type additional copyright information in the copyright_extra textbox (Figure 5.2).
A divider line separates copyright_after and copyright_extra text.
- In the link_text textboxes, type the text that represents each link you type in the link_url textboxes (Figure 5.3).
A maximum of 19 characters is allowed in the link_text textboxes.
- Click Save (Figure 6.4).
- A copyright symbol ( © ) is automatically added for you and can be seen when the custom component is previewed.
- You can add up to nine (9) links, however, this custom component can be used without adding any links.

- Click Preview site in the upper right side of the screen to preview the footer in a browser (Figure 6).

- Your Explorer Flexible Footer Long custom component appears at the bottom of the page (Figure 7).
The Explorer Flexible Footer Long custom component appears on your page in the order you have placed it with other components in the Footer section. Components appear on your webpage in the same order they appear in the Bento CMS.
